With a focus on bringing all indirect taxes on a single page and increasing tax revenue collection, GST in India has evolved multi-fold in last 5 years to become the most efficient and effective taxation system for both businesses and the Governments. In the next phase, the GST Council through a multi-pronged and long term strategy, should make efforts to encourage compliances, plug revenue leakages, remove distortions and contribute to building the trust relationship.
